If you still think that Democratic liberals and Republican conservatives can find a way to “get along” and “compromise” in order to “solve our differences” and “move the country forward,” let me just dispel that right now.
It’s not going to happen.
Furthermore, I’ll be even more frank: Those most responsible for this unbridgeable gap in our culture and society are Democrats and the Left-wing fanatical lunatics the party’s leaders seem very comfortable with courting.
The most recent example of this comes from — where else? — academia and the media, two institutions that have long since abandoned any pretense of America-first-ism, along with civility and reason in the age of Barack Obama and Donald J. Trump.
As The National Sentinel reported, Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA, an organization promoting conservatism on campus, tweeted out this message:
I get countless of messages from students who say professors are lowering their grades & penalizing them for being conservative. Leftists dominating higher education represent a grave threat to our country & culture. Conservative students shouldn’t be targeted for disagreeing.

For that, Kirk received a response from Alt-Left “journalist” Jesse Farrar, who has written for Alt-Left websites Deadspin and Vice who said professors should instead “hold the conservative students [sic] heads under water until they stop breathing.”
So Kirk responds, “I’m sure he is joking, but imagine if conservatives made a joke like that against liberals?”
“I’m not joking,” Ferrar wrote back, later deleting both tweets.
Nice, huh? President Trump gets called a “Nazi” all the time by jerks like this who, were they ever empowered to do so, would commit genocide against an entire group of Americans simply because they disagree with him politically and culturally. Like a Nazi would.
Or a communist like, say, Soviet leader Josef Stalin, who exterminated tens of millions of his own people because they represented a political challenge to him.
Or perhaps Chinese communist leader Mao Zedong, whose “Great Leap Forward” policy implemented between 1958 and 1962 is estimated to have led to the deaths of 45 million Chinese citizens.
Per Historian Frank Dikötter, author of Mao’s Great Famine, wrote:
Mao thought that he could catapult his country past its competitors by herding villagers across the country into giant people’s communes. In pursuit of a utopian paradise, everything was collectivized. People had their work, homes, land, belongings and livelihoods taken from them. In collective canteens, food, distributed by the spoonful according to merit, became a weapon used to force people to follow the party’s every dictate. As incentives to work were removed, coercion and violence were used instead to compel famished farmers to perform labor on poorly planned irrigation projects while fields were neglected. A catastrophe of gargantuan proportions ensued.
Now, given what you just read about Jesse the Jerk, who does that sound more like, Democrats or Trump Republicans?
There’s more to the Farrar episode. Taken aback by his comment, Independent Review Journal contacted Deadspin deputy editor Barry Petchesky for comment. He said that while he didn’t agree with Farrar’s “method,” he nevertheless added, “I can’t argue that it wouldn’t make the world a better place.” (Related: Washington Post, which hides behind First Amendment to publish FAKE NEWS, now calls for end of free speech for conservatives.)
How Mao-like. How Stalin-like. And wasn’t it Hitler who argued the “world would be a better place” without Jews?
Understand something, dear reader: Today’s Democratic Party is full of jerks like Farrar and Petchesky. These are no longer outliers; they’re becoming the “mainstream” of the party, and they’re not kidding when they say things like our country would be better off without conservatives (or anyone who disagrees with them).
And they would absolutely embrace the use of force to get rid of us if they could.
This episode, in a microcosm, helps demonstrate unequivocally that the real enemies of the civil society are Left-wing lunatics in the Democratic Party. And they are the reason why our political discourse is so rancorous and unresolvable.
