Ocasio-Cortez falsely claims that U.S. border officials “inject drugs” into migrant kids, says NOTHING about inhumane issue of “child recycling”

Like virtually ever other elected Democrat, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez refuses to be honest when it comes to discussing the issue of illegal immigration and the myriad of problems associated with it.

And because she and other Democrats won’t be honest, they also won’t help Republicans and POTUS Donald Trump address those problems. Instead, because they favor open borders and the importation of millions of eventual new voters, they have to misrepresent what’s really going on in order to fire up their increasingly unhinged voting base to keep the issue front and center ahead of the 2020 elections.

Case in point: Last week Ocasio-Cortez actually claimed that the Trump administration is “caging children” and then “injects them with drugs” — one of the most irresponsible and preposterous things she’s said in her short, but cringeworthy, tenure in Congress, Big League Politics reported.

In a Periscope live stream crouching in front of her smartphone, the freshman Democratic Socialist claimed — without offering any evidence — that the federal government under Trump cages kids and injects them as acts of “hatred” and “cruelty.”

“At least I’m not trying to cage children on the border and inject them with drugs,” said Ocasio-Cortez. “That’s not a mistake, that’s a deliberate policy to attack people based on their national origin. That’s not a mistake, that’s just hatred, that’s just cruelty, that’s just wrong.”

One Twitter user, in response to Ryan Saavedra’s tweet, who said he is a Border Patrol agent, noted, “@AOC, I’m a Border Patrol Agent on the front lines and I can tell you NO ONE is ‘injecting kids with drugs.” (Related: Ocasio-Cortez has no idea the Berlin Wall was built to keep people IN, not out… because everybody wants to flee socialism.)

He added that migrant kids “get…hot meals, medical treatment, clean clothes and games. Even as overwhelmed as we are.”

There is plenty to be angry about what’s happening at the U.S.-Mexico border without making stuff up

At virtually any other point in our history, this woman would have been pilloried in the press and sanctioned by Congress, even by members of her own party, after accusing the country she serves of engaging in actions and behaviors similar to those of Soviet Russia or Nazi Germany.

Not only is what she saying wrong, her rhetoric is divisive and it’s dangerous.

If she really wants to be outraged about something, she should be angry at something real: Mexico-based cartels that engage in “child recycling” schemes, which Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen recently discussed. (Related: Former ICE director explodes on Ocasio-Cortez’s ‘rape’ allegations: ‘I’m sick of this!’)

As NewsTarget reported last week, Nielsen explained that ‘recycling children’ refers to kidnapping them and giving them “to an adult to cross the border, present themselves as a family” — which makes it much more likely the adults will get to remain in the U.S., thanks to immigration and asylum law loopholes.

“We’ve broken up so-called ‘child recycling’ rings, if you can believe it, in the last couple of months, which is where smugglers kidnap a child,” she said. “Once they get in, because, as you know, we can only hold families for 20 days, they send the child back and bring the child back with another family – another fake family, another adult.”

There is plenty for Ocasio-Cortez to be angry about when it comes to what’s happening on the U.S.-Mexico border without making things up — and making the situation worse with lies and inflammatory rhetoric. Our country is divided enough and on a short fuse as it is; the last thing we need is another bomb-thrower.
